Death of a Coworker

oletherosIt's been a rough week. One of my coworkers died on Friday. She was pretty private, so I can't honestly say that we were close. But we worked on the same team for eight years and shared an office for the last two and a half years. One of the other people from the team died last year. I was just downstairs talking to only other person left from that team and we're both pretty freaked out right now. We're absolutely going to make sure we go to the doctor for physicals soon.
I've had a lot of conversations with coworkers this week. And I've already been in a contemplative mood about what I want to do when I grow up, so this kind of put a lot of things into perspective. More to follow, of course, but man this whole year has been so weird.
