They say the efficient writer uses all parts of the relationship carcass, including the bullshittery that comes from unfriending people on various social media, etc. Blah blah blah drama drama drama. Except that it makes a good motivational plot point for the curve I just put into the novel I'm working on. So yay for me for using my art to work through my anger et al?

It may or may not have been coincidental that I came to this conclusion about the remains of a relationship that ended five months ago at or about the same time that I decided the issues I was having with my novel needed an out-of-the-box solution. Who has two thumbs and loves metafiction?

On top of that, the new structure gives me a use for five different pieces of fiction that have been sitting around in various states of completion for ages. Now I suddenly have an excuse to finish all of them. All at once. I refer the reader to the previous comments about efficient writers. No words are ever wasted.

TL;DR breakups suck, but they make good fodder for fiction; eight thousand words in four days is a lot, right?
